Both a mother and daughter were arrested on assault-related charges following a disturbance that began at a downtown bar and ended at the mother's mobile home in Eldred Township, according to a state police affidavit. An argument between Asia Agnew, 26, of Williamsport, and her mother, Corria Dizard, 41, inside the bar turned violent when Agnew hit her mother "in the forehead with a liquor bottle," the affidavit stated. Dizard fled the establishment in an attempt to get away from her daughter, but Agnew pursued her, getting in her mother's car, police were told. Dizard pushed her daughter out of the vehicle and started to pull away, dragging the daughter, it was alleged in court papers.
Shortly after Dizard arrived home at 170 Pinecrest Drive, lot 33, her daughter showed up and allegedly "broke into the residence, destroying two computer monitors," and she then started breaking things, police were told. "Agnew grabbed a knife and held it in a menacing way. The mother also grabbed a knife to protect herself," court records stated. Both women have been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment while Agnew also faces additional charges of defiant trespassing and criminal mischief. The two were arraigned before Gardner. Agnew was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail while her mother was released on the same amount.
