At 1:30 a.m. on July 9, Lindsey Taylor, 24, 1280 Hepburn St., was stopped by city police after they observed her SUV fail to stop at a posted stop sign at East Fourth and Penn streets and struck the curb.
Taylor had an odor of alcohol on her, slurred speech and was wearing a wristband from The Bar On Market, police allege.
Taylor was unable to provide standard driving and vehicle documentation to police, court documents said.
Taylor failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .21. She was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 4, Cherokee Hamilton, 36, of 199 Race St., Hughesville, was stopped by state police at Sheetz in Muncy Creek after they observed his 1998 Lexus ES300 make several traffic violations, including crossing the center median and traveling between 43 and 61 mph in a posted 45 mph zone.
Hamilton had glassy, watery eyes and an odor of marijuana was detected from the vehicle, police allege. Hamilton admitted that he frequently smoked marijuana in his vehicle, including multiple times throughout the day, the most recent time being two hours prior to being pulled over, court documents said.
Additionally, police noted that his vehicle state inspection sticker had expired.
Hamilton experienced mood swings during the length of his interaction with police, going from hostile to apologetic and back to hostile, police allege.
Hamilton failed a field sobriety test and refused lab work. He was charged with DUI, four summary offenses and was released on $2,500 bail.
In another case, at 1:35 a.m. on Nov. 26, 2022, Courtney Long, 36, of 534 Childs Drive, South Williamsport, was stopped by state police near East Third and Elmira streets after they observed the registration on her 2021 Ford Taurus to have expired in October.
Long had watery eyes with droopy eyelids and low, slurred speech, police allege. Long repeatedly closed her eyes while speaking with police, was slow and sluggish while retrieving her documents and related to police that she had taken Abilify, according to an affidavit.
Long failed a field sobriety test and refused lab work. She was charged with DUI, a summary offense, waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, on July 2, Matthew Lott, 39, of Walworth, N.Y., was stopped by Penn College Police in the Sheetz parking lot after they observed his 2010 Mazda CX9 sit through a flashing red light at Maynard and West Third streets for several minutes before cutting off an approaching truck.
Lott had an odor of alcohol, glassy watery eyes and slow, slurred speech, police allege.
When asked for his vehicle documentation, Lott handed police his license, registration and a Police Member Card without Lott's name on it, according to an affidavit.
Lott stated that he had been "hanging out with friends" since he got off work at 10 p.m., relating that he had a few drinks, but refused to say what they were, court documents said. Lott refused a field sobriety test twice and was hesitant to exit his vehicle, having to be ordered out three times.
He was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
