Just hours after assaulting his ex-girlfriend in their home on Randall Circle on Tuesday night and fleeing the property, Shaheed Gindraw returned to the scene, kicked in the back door and chased the woman outside where he pistol whipped her twice in the head, state police alleged in court papers.
The woman had already called the police when she saw Gindraw back outside the Loyalsock Township apartment at 1732 Randall Circle about 11 p.m., according to an affidavit. Moments after arriving on the scene, a trooper witnessed Gindraw allegedly pistol whip the woman. The trooper gave him commands, but Gindraw paid no attention and took off running. It was unknown if the woman required any medical attention. At the scene, troopers recovered a handgun that was registered to the 35-year-old Gindraw.
Shortly after 6 p.m. Gindraw is alleged to have attacked the woman while the two argued over custody of their children, who were in the apartment at the time, police were told.
"Gindraw pulled the woman by her hair, causing her to fall to the floor. He then began punching and kicking her," police alleged in court documents.
He then fled the scene in a black 2009 Cadillac after the property manager told him he was no longer allowed to be on the premises, police said. Despite the manager's orders, Gindraw later returned and attacked the ex-girlfriend a second time, police alleged.
Several law enforcement officers took Gindraw into custody Wednesday afternoon in Montgomery. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Whiteman on felony charges of aggravated assault, burglary, endangering the welfare of children and trespassing plus several misdemeanor offenses, including simple assault, evading arrest, recklessly endangering and terroristic threats. He was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $85,000 bail.
