State police stopped Richard Packer, 35, of 520 1/2 Main St., Jersey Shore, after they observed his 2009 Mazda swerve into the left-hand lane and fail to maintain the proper lane position at 1:15 a.m. on March 12 along Maynard Street in the city.
Packer admitted to having consumed one beer and a shot two hours prior to driving, police allege. Packer failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .21. He was charged with DUI, four summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, at 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 10, Donte Johnson, 26, of 807 Almond St., was stopped by state police near Washington Boulevard and Penn Street after they noted the tint on the windows of his 2012 Kia Optima to be too dark to see who was driving. Additionally, Johnson failed to stop before the crosswalk at Packer Street and Washington Boulevard.
Johnson had an odor of alcohol and glassy, bloodshot eyes, police allege, and admitted to having consumed two to four shots around midnight. Johnson refused to complete a field sobriety test and lab work. He was charged with DUI, three summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, city police stopped Arianna Bardo, 22, of Bloomsburg, after they observed her 1999 Toyota Corolla nearly strike the concrete pillar at Emira and Fourth streets. Upon following Bardo for a short distance, police also witnessed her nearly strike several parked vehicles.
Bardo admitted to having consumed alcohol at a local establishment, police allege. She failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .11. Bardo was charged with DUI, waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, at 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 29, state police arrested 63-year-old Jeffrey Poust, of 80 N. Broad St., Hughesville, after he fell asleep in his 2016 Hyundai Elantra while in a drive-thru on Route 405 in Wolf Township. Poust related that he takes Xanax and Hydrocodone daily for health issues, according to court documents. Poust failed a field sobriety test and lab results were positive for the presence of Xanax and oxycodone.
He was charged with DUI, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $2,500 bail.
