Cause of Nippenose Valley blaze to remain undetermined

Trooper Nathan Birth, a state police fire marshal, said Friday that Monday morning's blaze that destroyed the home of Mark and Doris Anderman on Morgan Valley Road in Bastress Township will go undetermined. While a propane gas heater "was a possible cause for the fire, the home was damaged to such an extent that other possible causes could not be ruled out as potential ignition sources," he said. Fire officials said the couple, who had insurance on the home, were staying with relatives. No damage figure was ever released.
