State police arrested Marvin King, 28, of Lock Haven, after his 2011 Ford pickup truck, along with a trailer it was towing was involved in a hit and run along the 6300 block of State Route 287 South in Mifflin Township.
After striking a telephone pole, the truck, which was damaged, fled the scene, spreading pieces of debris from a shed on the trailer along the highway, according to court documents.
Despite initially admitting to having consumed alcohol at an unidentified tavern early on during questioning, King refused to answer further questions, police allege.
King had a strong odor of alcohol, watery, bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet, according to court documents.
He failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .22.
King was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $15,000 bail.
In another case, Michael Persun, 46, of 1167 Dutch Hollow Road, Jersey Shore, was arrested by Lycoming Regional Police in the 100 block of North Main Street on Aug. 12, after they observed his 2017 Chevrolet Suburban cross the double yellow line. Police also struggled to keep up with the vehicle, indicating that Persun was traveling well above the posted speed limit of 35 miles per hour.
An odor of alcohol was detected from Persun's vehicle and he had glassy, watery eyes and slurred speech, police allege.
An open container of an alcoholic beverage was in plain view in the center cup holder, according to an affidavit.
Persun failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .23.
He was charged with DUI, three summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $15,000 bail.
In another case, state police arrested Lindsey Brackins, 36, of 315 S. Main St., apartment 2, Jersey Shore, during a follow-up interview pertaining to an unrelated matter at noon on Sept. 23.
Police contacted Brackins via her cellphone, offering to meet her at her present location, but Brackins refused, instead returning to her apartment in her 2002 Ford Explorer, according to an affidavit.
Brackins was evasive, refusing to reveal where she had been, only saying she was at a friend's house, police allege.
She had a strong odor of alcohol, glassy, bloodshot eyes and police discovered her license was currently under suspension for a previous DUI, court documents state.
Despite denying being under the influence, Brackins failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .12.
She was charged with DUI, three summary offenses, waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $25,000 bail.
In another case, Peter Zielewicz, 41, of 3726 Route 442, Muncy, was stopped by state police at 8 p.m. on June 23, after observing his 2008 Dodge Ram cross the center line along Route 442 East in Muncy Creek Township.
Zielewicz, who had an odor of alcohol, stated that he had consumed two beers while at Angus Inn and displayed glassy, bloodshot eyes and slow, slurred speech, police allege.
Zielewicz failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .19.
He was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $2,5000 bail.
In another case, at 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 1, 32 year old Matthew Hallowell, of Bloomsburg, was stopped by state police after they observed the registration light on his 2014 Subaru Forester to be inoperable.
Hallowell had an odor of alcohol, police allege, and related that he was on his way home from Bullfrog Brewery, police allege.
He failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .08.
Hallowell was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, state police arrested Christy Koch, 40, of 152 Boak Ave., Lot 22, Hughesville, was arrested after fleeing the scene of an accident in which her eastbound traveling 2014 Toyota Venza crossed into the westbound lane of Meadowbrook Road before leaving the roadway, driving through a wheat field and coming to rest, partially submerged, in a ditch.
Koch was interviewed at her residence, where she could not provide much detail into the accident, telling police only that she was coming from Hull's Landing, where she had consumed "maybe one, or two, or three" alcoholic beverages, according to court documents.
Koch had a strong odor of alcohol and glassy, bloodshot eyes, police allege.
She refused to complete a field sobriety test and lab work.
Koch was charged with DUI, three summary offenses, waived her preliminary hearing, and was released on $2,500 bail.
In another case, state police arrested Harvey Fetterhoff, 31, of Danville, rolled over his 2023 Yamaha ATV at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 24.
Fetterhoff told police that he was just driving around when he lost control of the vehicle while rounding a curve as a deer ran out in front of him, an affidavit said.
He had a strong odor of alcohol and glassy, bloodshot eyes, police allege, and admitted to having consumed five beers before operating the ATV.
Fetterhoff had a BAC of .21.
He was charged with DUI, three summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $2,500 bail.
In another case, Nicole Linville, 44, of 808 Hepburn St., Apt. 1, was stopped by state police at 12:15 a.m. on March 5, after they observed the registration on her 1998 Chevrolet Silverado to have expired in September.
Linville had glassy, bloodshot eyes with dilated pupils, police allege, was extremely talkative and made erratic movements.
During a consensual search of the vehicle, police discovered a hypodermic needle, a baggie with white residue, and other items, an affidavit said.
Linville admitted to having taken a substance the day prior, but was unsure of what it was.
She failed a field sobriety test, and lab results were positive for the presence of cocaine, amphetamine, and methamphetamine.
She was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, three summary offenses, waived her preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000 bail.
