A woman was in her kitchen making coffee about 7 a.m. on Jan. 17 when her estranged husband, Michael Lee Edison, "broke through a locked back door" to the couple's home on Campbell Street in Clinton Township, state police alleged in an affidavit. Edison, 33, then began breaking things, including a mirror and vanity, police were told. He then grabbed the woman "around her throat with his right hand," making it difficult for her to breathe for several seconds, police alleged. Edison, whose current address was not provided, then "shoved the woman into a bathroom window," causing a head injury, a trooper said in the court document. Arraigned hours later before District Judge Aaron Biichle on charges of strangulation, simple assault and harassment, Edison was initially jailed in the Lycoming County Prison, but has since been released on $50,000 bail.
In another case upon arriving at the scene of a domestic disturbance call about 3 p.m. Friday, city police were told by a woman that her boyfriend, James E. Williams Jr., "was pushing her around, throwing things at her and verbally threatening her" in their home at 2423 Dove St., it was alleged in an affidavit. The woman stated Williams, 59, was "high and drunk," the court document stated. It is alleged in the document that Williams punched the woman four times in the face. "Williams was clearly intoxicated. He smelled strongly of the odor of an alcoholic beverage and had trouble balancing while standing," an officer wrote in the affidavit. Following his arraignment before Biichle on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, Williams was committed to the county prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
In another domestic situation, Noah Evan Regan, 31, of 358 Tiadaghton Ave., Jersey Shore, faces charges of simple assault and harassment after he grabbed a male juvenile by the throat and "attempted on multiple occurrences to strike the victim" in Regan's car in the 7700 block of Route 220 in Woodward Township about 3 p.m. on Feb. 7, state police alleged. Following his arraignment that night before Biichle, Regan was initially jailed, but has since been released on $10,000 bail.
