A Flemington man driving a Mack truck was injured in a vehicle accident on Route 287 in Pine Township just before 11 a.m. March 21, state police said.
Richard L. Masorti, 64, crashed while traveling southbound and failed to negotiate a curve in the road.
The truck started to travel southwest, partially off the roadway and onto the embankment along the southbound lane of the road and then traveled southeast back on the road across both the southbound and northbound lanes and then turning onto its passenger side.
The truck continued traveling southeast on its passenger side striking the guide rail along the northbound lane.
The truck continued to travel south along the northbound guide rail for about 25 feet before coming to final rest.
The truck came to final rest on its passenger side, partially off the roadway and blocking the northbound lane of Route 287 facing east.
The operator was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and sustained minor injuries.
The truck was not able to be driven from the scene and was towed by a heavy duty wrecker.
This crash is suspected to have been caused as a result of the operator having a medical emergency.
Police were assisted by members of the Morris Volunteer Fire Department, state Department of Transportation and R & M Heavy Repair.
The driver was taken for treatment at Geisinger in Jersey Shore.
The violation was driving on roadways laned for traffic but the driver was not charged.
