Just after 11 p.m. on Feb. 24, Lycoming Regional Police stopped William Kneal, 63, of 98 Kneale Lane, Jersey Shore, in the 1400 block of South Route 44, after they observed his 2023 Ford F-150 weaving within its lane and crossing the fog line. Additionally, the truck was witnessed crossing the centerline into the oncoming traffic lane.
Kneale had an odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet to the point that he was unable to perform a field sobriety test, police allege.
Kneale had a BAC of .23.
He was charged with DUI and two summary offenses.
In another case, Tracy Vincent, 27, of 1635 Route 442, Lot D24, Muncy, was stopped by state police after they observed her 2000 Buick Le Sabre weaving within its lane, subsequently crossing several lane designators along Route 405 near Hughesville at 9 p.m. on March 14, 2023.
Speaking with a low, raspy voice, Vincent told police she was driving that way due to eating pizza, relating that she was on her way to a local restaurant to get more food, according to court documents.
Vincent was fidgety, and her glassy, bloodshot eyes continued to roll towards the back of her head as she spoke with police, an affidavit.
Though not chewing anything physical, she continuously grinded her teeth throughout the stop, police allege.
Vincent failed a field sobriety test, and refused lab work.
She was charged with DUI, waived her preliminary hearing, and was released on $2,500 bail.
In another case, state police stopped 51 year old Jeremy Barrett, of 415 N. Montour St., Montoursville, after they observed his 2007 Toyota Rav4 crossing several lane designators and failing to use its turn signals in the area of Old Montoursville Road and Broad Street in Montoursville.
An odor of alcohol was detected from within the vehicle, and Barrett stated he had been at a local establishment where he had consumed four to five beers prior to driving, police allege. He had glassy, bloodshot eyes.
Barrett failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .17.
He was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, just after 2 a.m. on Sept. 29, South Williamsport Police stopped Steven Moon, 29, of 2210 Division Road, after his 2011 Jeep Cherokee failed to obey a properly marked stop sign at Hill Street and Southern Avenue.
Police detected an odor of alcohol from the vehicle, and Moon stated that he had had just just dropped an intoxicated friend off at her house so she would not have to drive or be stranded, according to court documents.
Moon admitted to having consumed alcohol, but stated it was "not a lot," relating it was a beer a few hours ago.
Moon failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .11.
He was charged with DUI, a summary offense, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, 55 year old Douglas Liberti, of 318 Youngs Road, Linden, was stopped by state police after they clocked her 2021 Jaguar F-Pacetraveling at 80 mph in a posted 55 mph zone along I-180 East near the Faxon Interchange in Loyalsock Township.
An odor of alcohol was detected from the vehicle, and Liberti, who had glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, admitted to having consumed alcohol prior to driving, police allege.
Initially agreeing to a field sobriety test, Liberti became uncooperative, refusing the test and lab work, court documents said.
He was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing, and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, state police stopped Baily Stonecypher, 22, of 755 Broad Street, Montoursville, after they observed that his 2006 GMC Sierra was operating a faulty exhaust system near Saint David's Road and Country Club Drive in Loyalsock Township just after 1 a.m. on Dec. 2.
An odor of burnt and raw marijuana was detected from the vehicle, and Stonecypher had glassy, bloodshot eyes with dilated pupils, police allege.
He admitted to having smoked marijuana an hour before driving, and during a consensual search of the vehicle, a small was discovered, according to court documents.
Stonecypher failed a field sobriety test, and lab results were positive for the presence of THC.
He was charged with DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and two summary offenses.
Stonecypher failed to appear for a preliminary hearing, and a bench warrant is expected to be issued.
