The woman driving this Ford Escape was treated at an area hospital for injuries she suffered when her southbound vehicle went off Route 15 and crashed into the side of a house, just north of Route 54, in Clinton Township about 3:15 p.m. Saturday, according to state police.

The driver swerved off the road to avoid striking the rear of another motorist who was turning, police said.

One witness reported the Escape was at least 10 feet in the air before slamming into the home. Two people were in the house, but they were not hurt, police said.

Township firefighters and emergency medical technicians responded to the accident.

It was unknown if the family was going to be able stay in the house, which sustained in excess of $30,000 damage, fire officials said.
