House fire in Oval

PHIL HOLMES/Sun-Gazette Volunteer firefighters rushed to a home in the 6700 block of Route 44 in Oval about 4:50 p.m. Sunday when an electrical fire broke out in the mudroom at the back of the house, according to Nippenose Valley Assistant Chief Jeff Stabley. All occupants were out of the structure when firefighters arrived to find smoke pouring from the rear of the home, he said. The fire was knocked down within 20 minutes. No one was injured. A family of three will be displaced until electrical service to the home is restored, Stabley said. While en route to fire, a fire truck from Citizens Hose Company in Jersey Shore was involved in a minor mishap at Main and Allegheny streets in the borough. There were no injuries, officials said.
