Williamsport woman charged with endangering the welfare of a child

A 32-year-old city mother is behind bars on felony charges of endangering the welfare of a child and intimidation of a witness following repeated incidents of allowing her 3-year-old daughter to wander “unsupervised in the street” at least two to six times in the last month alone, city police alleged in an affidavit. Following the latest incident which occurred on Saturday morning, April Nicole Rimer of 1230 Memorial Ave., turned on a neighbor who notified the police, punching her and scratching her, it was alleged in the court document. Rimer admitted that she initiated a fight with the woman because she “was scared that the neighbor called 911 about the child,” police said in the affidavit. Rimer, also charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct, was arraigned before District Judge William Solomon and committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bail.
