City man charged with strangulation

City police have charged Phillip Rodney Johnson, 45, of 816 High St., with strangulation and simple assault after an alleged victim accused him of attacking her following an argument over the usage of a laundry basket in the 800 block of High Street in the city, according to an affidavit.

Johnson allegedly first poked the alleged victim in the head with his finger, then, after she had separated himself from her, grabbed her by the neck and pushed her into the refrigerator, she told investigators.

Responding officers noted redness and two deeper red color line bruises on the accuser’s neck.

Arraigned before District Judge Christian Frey, Johnson was remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Burglary charges lodged against homeless man

A homeless man faces charges of burglary, criminal trespass and simple assault after he allegedly forced his way into a home in the 400 block of Glenwood Avenue in the city on Aug. 25, a city police affidavit said.

After forcing his way in through the backdoor of the residence, 25-year-old Tafari Major asked the alleged victim for a cigarette, a request she refused, instructing him to leave, at which point Major got into the alleged victim’s face, putting her in fear of being assaulted, according to court documents.

Johnson allegedly became infuriated after the alleged victim called police, and began hitting a bedroom door, knocking it off its hinges before fleeing prior to police arrival, authorities allege.

Johnson was arraigned on the charges by District Judge Christian Frey, and jailed at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

City man allegedly made more than $31k in unauthorized transactions

A city man faces a variety of theft-related charges after allegedly charging more than $31k to his mother’s bank account, according to court documents.

The alleged victim’s son, Dietrick Budd Ruper Lamade, 34, of 1617 Spring Lane, had access to the card due to her not possessing a computer, but was expressly told he was not allowed to make any charges to it due to allegedly having stolen from her in the past, she told city police, according to an affidavit.

The alleged transactions came to light after the alleged victim’s electricity was shut off, after which she was told her automatic payment did not process and that the card on file was overdrafted.

Calling the bank, she was informed that $31,204.27-worth of charges had been made between April 9 and May 30, 2025, including numerous allegedly linked to a PayPal account matching her son’s, court documents said.

Lamade allegedly told his mother he would pay her back when confronted about the unauthorized usage.

A search warrant confirmed that not only did the PayPal account belong to Lamade, but that he had added his mother’s bank account information to the account the previous April, subsequently making several purchases and transactions, authorities allege.

Lamade was arraigned on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and access device fraud by District Judge Aaron Biichle and locked up at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Man locked up on intimidation charges hit with drug offenses

Already locked up on six felony counts of intimidation of a witness, 27-year-old Aaron Pinkney, of 2612 Dove St., has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility after he allegedly provided a confidential informant 3.5 grams of cocaine in exchange for cash near Memorial Avenue and Race Street in the city on Aug. 10, an affidavit revealed.

A small amount of cocaine as well as pre-recorded police funds were allegedly recovered from his residence during the execution of a search warrant, authorities said in an affidavit.

Pinkney was arraigned on the charges by District Judge Christian Frey and remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Earlier this month, Pinkney was locked up after allegedly threatening two detectives and a witness called to testify against his brother, Amontae Pinkney, 18, of Williamsport, in two separate cases.

Following the detective’s testimony, during which Aaron Pinkney held direct eye contact with him, Almontae Pinkney was ordered to stand trial on the charges, at which point, Aaron allegedly told the detective, “I’ll be seeing you soon,” followed by “you better be looking behind you,” according to court documents.

As he was leaving the court room, Aaron Pinkney allegedly looked directly at a second NEU detective and made a slight remark that appeared to the investigator to be threatening in nature, the affidavit stated. This detective, who also took the stand in the stolen-gun case, told Pinkney that he can “stop it now” and that he was not afraid of him. To which Pinkney told the detective that he should be scared of him, authorities allege.

Three days later, Aaron Pinkney allegedly drove past a witness in the case, on West Edwin Street in the city and told him he was “going to kill him and that the police could not stop him,” the affidavit said.

In that case, Pinkney was locked up in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Amontae Pinkney remains jailed on a series of charges.

City man charged following domestic dispute

Upon arriving at a residence in the 2500 block of Federal Avenue for a report of a physical domestic assault, city police observed the alleged victim visibly upset in the doorway, and Brentt Michael Dutton allegedly picked up and threw a table against a wall, court documents said.

Prior to their arrival, Dutton, 33, of 2500 Federal Ave., Apt. 353, allegedly shut and repeatedly punched the door and shoved the alleged victim, making her fear for herself and her children, who were still inside the residence, she told police.

Items and pictures were observed to be tossed around the residence and on the floor, responding police said in an affidavit.

Dutton was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment by District Judge Christian Frey and jailed at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

City man accused of striking two victims

Zachery Rishel, 25, of 917 Clark St., has been charged with two counts of simple assault after he allegedly struck two victims when asked to leave a residence in the 700 block of West Edwin Street on July 14.

As he was exiting the residence, Rishel allegedly struck an alleged victim in the face as she was closing the door, prompting her mother, who had witnessed the incident to come over and confront him. Rishel then allegedly hit the second alleged victim twice in the back of her head, court documents said.

The primary alleged victim then emerged from her residence with a pipe, striking Rishel as he fought with her and her mother.

An independent eyewitness corroborated the alleged victim’s account, police said in an affidavit.

Rishel was arraigned by District Judge Christian Frey and released on $10,000 bail.

Linden man charged with terroristic threats

What began as an argument over the intoxication level of William Christopher Butler, 33, of 3517 Daughtery’s Run Road, Linden, quickly escalated when state police entered the mix.

Informed that the alleged victim in the incident was calling police, Butler allegedly stated that he was going to stab the first person that arrived, before brandishing a pocket knife, pointing it at the alleged victim and relating, “I’m going to get you first,” an affidavit said.

Multiple troopers were needed to take Butler into custody when he resisted initial attempts. The knife was located in the grass near where the incident initially took place.

Butler was arraigned on charges of making terroristic threats and resisting arrest by District Judge Christian Frey.

Muncy man arrested after brandishing knife during disturbance

After returning to a residence on Angletown Road in Muncy Creek Township, following a verbal altercation, Darrian Wayne Rudy, 19, of 14 S. Washington St., Muncy, allegedly commenced his disruptive behavior, according to court documents.

Four men called to the residence by the alleged victim’s mother attempted to quell the situation, however Rudy retrieved a knife from his pocket, stating “you won’t do anything because I have this,” state police said in an affidavit.

Noticing the door to the residence was cracked open slightly, Rudy allegedly charged into the home, knocked the alleged victim to the ground and stood over her with the knife.

The four men rushed into and restrained Rudy and removed him from the residence, during which one of the men sustained an injury to his finger from the knife, authorities allege.

Rudy was arraigned on charges of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment by District Judge Christian Frey and remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
