Charges filed against Williamsport woman who allegedly ran from police
After a city police officer detained her and ordered her to remain on the curb in the 600 block of Washington Boulevard on Oct. 7, fugitive Tierra Nicole Lyons, who had given the officer a false identification, fled on foot, running through multiple yards and jumping over several fences, it was alleged in an affidavit. The officer was returning to his cruiser to verify what information Lyons had given him when the 27-year-old woman, wanted on a bench warrant out of the Lycoming County Sheriff’s Office, took off running, the court document stated. Numerous additional officers responded to the neighborhood to search for the woman. Lyons, of 1516 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, was located hiding in some bushes and had to be forcibly removed from the shrubbery, police said. Automatically placed in the county prison on the bench warrant, Lyons has since been arraigned before Bichle on charges of evading arrest and resisting arrest, and recommitted in lieu of $10,000 bail.
