While towing a junked car to a scrapyard about 1:20 p.m. Monday, the driver suddenly noticed that the car was on fire as he was traveling east on I-180 in Faifield Township, according to Montoursville Fire Capt. Jeff Kukuchka. The tow truck operator pulled over, quickly unloaded the burning vehicle and pull his truck away. When firefighters from Montoursville and Pennsdale arrived on the scene, the entire car was engulfed in flames. The fire caused a lengthy traffic jam on the interstate. Once the fire was out, the tow truck operator loaded the car back on the tow truck and continued on his way to the scrapyard, Kukuchka said.
