Pennsylvania’s Latest Casino Selects Konami as its Casino Management System Provider

Pennsylvania is one of the few states to offer online and commercial gaming, and its latest land-based facility, which is due to open in early 2026, has selected its casino management system provider. The Happy Valley Casino chose Konami Gaming and its SYNKROS system as it looks forward to opening its doors.
The new casino project comes from SC Gaming and Saratoga Casino Holdings, and its choice to implement Konami Gaming’s SYNKROS system comes as it attempts to provide an innovative, efficient, and convenient service to its new customers.
Implementing this state-of-the-art technology should empower staff to provide the best experience as it joins the state’s other 17 commercial casinos. The new project will play a big part in increasing the state’s current gross gaming revenue, which already sits at almost $3.5 billion.
Pennsylvania’s iGaming industry is also responsible for just under $3 billion in GGR, despite the popularity of offshore alternatives. While the state currently offers 11 licensed online casino facilities, offshore betting sites give consumers even more choice.
Escapist Magazine’s analysis of offshore casinos shows how bettors can choose from a wide selection of games and sign-up bonuses, underlining why these options have proved so popular.
Despite this, the state’s licensed casino industry still brings in over $2 billion per year in tax revenue, and its sports betting platforms are also extremely popular. Pennsylvanians can choose between the state’s 16 retail sports betting operators or visit any of the 12 online alternatives, with both accounting for around $800 million in GGR and more than $180 million in taxes.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has awarded the Happy Valley Casino a Category 4 license, which means that the 600 slot machines that will feature at the casino will be taxed at 54% on gross gaming, with its 20 table games being taxed at 14%.
Category 4 licensed casino tax sees 68% distributed to the state’s Property Tax Relief Fund. The State Treasury and the Commonwealth Financing Authority will each receive 10%, with the remaining 12% being issued to the Economic Development and Tourism Fund.
The Happy Valley Casino project’s cost sits around the $120 million mark and has been responsible for a sharp economic boost to the local area during construction. This is not expected to stop after completion, with the project expected to create between 350 and 400 new jobs and increase footfall to the Nittany Mall.
It is estimated that the College Township will benefit from annual tax revenue of more than $1.6 million, increasing to $2 million when the casino stabilizes. Increased tourism is expected to bring more money to local businesses, while fiscal impact studies have shown that this increased revenue should offset additional demand for services and infrastructure.
As well as its selection of slot machines and table games, the new casino will also offer a sports-themed bar/restaurant, food court, and entertainment stage. The 94,000 square foot facility will be open 24 hours a day and will be a welcome boost to the local area.
