Several charged throughout Lycoming County

Muncy man charged twice in a month

A Muncy man faces a variety of charges after he was arrested on two separate occasions within the same month, according to state police affidavits.

Tyler Allen Weaver, 35, of 91 Odell Road, Lot C9, Muncy, was arrested shortly before 2 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2025, after he allegedly crashed his 2007 Subaru Outback near Lycoming Mall Drive and Cemetery Drive in Fairfield Township.

Through slurred speech, Weaver told police that he had swerved to avoid a squirrel and subsequently struck a PennDOT sign, court documents said.

Displaying watery, bloodshot eyes, he failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .20, according to an affidavit.

Just 15 days later, Weaver was again in custody when officers executing a mental health warrant on him allegedly discovered 3.5 grams of cocaine in a pants pocket during a consensual pat down.

Weaver related that the pants were not his and therefore, the drugs were not his, though police notes that he had had possession of them for several days and had worn them each day, according to court documents.

Weaver was arraigned on DUI and a summary offense for the first incident and possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia for the second by District Judge Gary Whiteman, and released on $5,000 bail.

Muncy man hit with variety of charges

Austin Arthur Bennett, 30, of 6624 Armstrong Road, Muncy, has been charged with endangering the welfare of children, making terroristic threats and several other offenses after he allegedly pulled a gun on a female victim while they were traveling near Musser Lane in Muncy Creek Township on Nov. 27, 2025, according to court documents.

The alleged victim stated that Bennett ordered her to stop the vehicle, telling her she was not who she said she was.

When she refused to stop, Bennett allegedly turned the vehicle off by turning the ignition key, before pointing a firearm at the alleged victim, all as her child was present in a car seat behind her, she told state police, according to an affidavit.

Bennett allegedly admitted to possessing the gun in his pocket at the time of the incident, relating that had given it to a friend.

Interviewed by police, the witness acknowledged that Bennett had the weapon concealed before pulling it out and handing it over. He further related that Bennett had fired several shots into the air as an “SOS” after exiting the vehicle, court documents said.

A Smith and Wesson .22 Caliber revolver with eight spent shell casings inside was recovered from the witness.

Bennett was arraigned on charges of endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and carrying a loaded weapon by District Judge Gary Whiteman, and remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Hughesville man charged with trespassing

A Hughesville man has been charged with defiant trespass harassment and disorderly conduct after allegedly pushing his way into the residence of a former girlfriend in the 50block of Orchard Avenue in Wolf Township on Nov. 19, 2024, a state police affidavit said.

Two alleged victims stated that Gregory A. Garverick, 38, of 16 N. Mohawk Drive, Hughesville, had arrived at the residence just after 12:30 p.m. to retrieve items he had previously left there, and despite being told to leave, Garverick allegedly pushed past the two, entering the residence, court documents said.

Garverick then proceeded to push several items off of a kitchen counter before fleeing, state police said in court filing. It was also noted that Gaverick had been told in March 2024 that was not welcome on the property.

District Judge Gary Whiteman arraigned Gaverick on the charges and released him on $10,000 bail.
