County prison inmate Stanley Corneille, a 31-year-old homeless man jailed since his arrest in mid-September, has been charged with institutional vandalism, a misdemeanor, after he is alleged to have thrown two electronic tablets at a mounted television set in the prison’s day room, “smashing the TV” on Jan. 5, a county detective stated in an affidavit. Following his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle on the new charge, Corneille was recommitted in lieu of an additional $5,000 bail. His initial arrest was made by Lycoming Regional police and stemmed from a disturbance on Allegheny Avenue in Jersey Shore.
