MORRIS – A 19-year-old New York state man was killed Friday night in a single-vehicle crash on Route 287, about six miles south of here in Lycoming County’s Pine Township, state police said.

Quinn Dowdell, of Floral Park (Long Island), lost control of his Nissan Xterra as he was traveling south on the two-lane state Road about 9:30 p.m., police said.

His SUV initially went off the right side of the road, but then came back, crossing both lanes before going down a small embankment, striking a tree and overturning, police said.

Dowdell was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy county coroner. His body was taken to the Lycoming County Forensic Center in the city’s Newberry neighborhood.
