Variety of charges filed in Lycoming County district courts

Two men charged in separate domestic disturbances

Logan Nicholas Lewis, 29, of 1610 Scott St., has been charged with simple assault for throwing a vape at his ex-girlfriend and punching her twice in the eye during a disturbance at their home on Jan. 10, city police alleged in an affidavit. The woman was treated at UPMC Williamsport. Lewis has waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Aaron Biichle and is free on $15,000 bail.

In another case, Austin Eugene Grossnickle II, 37, of 3605 Lycoming Creek Road, lot 19, Cogan Station, is alleged to have struck a woman in head and body as well as damaged some of her personal property in the mobile home they share on Dec. 9, it was stated in a court document. Charged with simple assault and harassment, Grossnickle was arraigned recently before District Judge Christian Frey and released on $10,000 bail.

Two sisters face assault-related charges

Tara Rosetta Short, 26, of 929 W. Fourth St., and her sister, Brittani Michelle Short, 31, of 727 Fourth Ave., have been charged by Muncy Township police with several offenses for assaulting another woman in front of her children in the 200 block of South Lycoming Mall Road on Oct. 23, it was alleged in an affidavit. Both women last week waived their preliminary hearings before District Judge Kristen Gardner and will face further court action on charges of simple assault, conspiracy, disorderly conduct and harassment. Tara also faces one count of criminal mischief. Both women are free on $5,000 bail.

Bench warrant expected to be issued for accused shoplifter

Bryson Jones, 20, of 1 College Place, has been charged with misdemeanor shoplifting after she is alleged to have stolen $32 worth of merchandise from Hobby Lobby, 1901 E. Third St., on Nov. 18, according to state police. A bench warrant for her arrest was expected to be filed after she failed this week to appear for her preliminary hearing before District Judge Gary Whiteman.

City man charged with theft

After finding a woman’s misplaced cellphone on Little League Boulevard on Aug. 12, Eric Lee Harris made no effort to find out who it belonged to, but instead took it to his apartment at 416 Third Ave., city police alleged. An officer later recovered it after the cellphone owner tracked it there and set off numerous audible alarms while the 47-year-old Harris had it in his possession, it was stated in an affidavit. Charged with one misdemeanor count of theft of lost or mislaid property, Harris was recently held for court on the charge following a preliminary hearing before District Judge Christian Frey. Initially jailed, he has since been released on $15,000 bail.
