Man charged with receiving stolen property after found with handcuffs and police binder
When Curtis Catherman showed up at the emergency room at UPMC Williamsport to be treated for “some kind of medical issue”on the morning of Jan. 31, he had with him a pair handcuffs and a binder that contained Williamport police paperwork, according to an affidavit.
Catherman, 38, “refused to give any information about himself and could not confirm” a home address, police said. He was identified only by a state driver’s license, police added.
It was unknown how he obtained the handcuffs or the police binder. When he was taken before Frey to be arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property, he was polite, but would not answer any questions, according to court records. Catherman was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
