When police and fire personnel arrived at the scene of a vehicle into a guardrail in the 2800 block of Route 220 north Sunday afternoon, the driver was nowhere to be found, according to Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Casey Swank.
There was no indication as to the cause of the accident or the identity of the driver, Swank said.
There was no indication of severe injury at the scene, as most of the damage was to the front end of the vehicle. However, injuries were a definite possibility if the driver were not seat belted, the chief said.
