No injuries after pickup truck collides with ambulance in Piatt Township

No one was hurt when this stopped UPMC ambulance was struck in the rear by the pickup truck at left at routes 220 and 287 in Piatt Township just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to state police. The ambulance was stopped for a red traffic light, according to emergency responders. The ambulance crew was taking a patient to Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital at the time. Following the mishap, a second ambulance was used to get the medical patient to the hospital, police said. Neither vehicle involved in the accident had to be towed, police said.
