Ohio man accused of threatening to kill alleged victim

An Ohio man has been charged with making terroristic threats and related offenses after he allegedly used his girlfriend’s Facebook account to send threatening messages to an alleged victim, who was covered by a protection from abuse order against the girlfriend, who had previously been charged with a violation of the order, according to a state police affidavit.

After a long, rambling set of messages allegedly sent by Richard Allen Paul Braham, 27, of , the chat turned violent.

“Assumptions can kill. And in an investigation every detail matters,” one message read, followed by “look up crime of passion.”

The alleged victim then received separate screenshots of a GPS map to her residence and of her address, phone number and email address, along with the same information for her husband, according to court filings.

“And if Richard is a nut job right?” “He could do crimes and plead insanity since he’s a nut job right,” further messages said, after which, the alleged victim received a screenshot of the definition for “a crime of passion.”

Roughly 45 minutes after the barrage of messages, the alleged victim received two threatening voice messages from Braham, police said in an affidavit.

“I’m expletive coming and I’m gonna expletive come expletive so expletive hard that you don’t even know what the expletive just happened to you,” Bitler allegedly said in one of the messages.

Braham previously stated to the alleged victim that he had “split personality disorder,” she told police, expressing fear and her belief that he was not in his right mind.

Charges of terroristic threats and harassment were held for court by District Judge Kirsten Gardner after Braham failed to appear for a preliminary hearing on the matter.

A bench warrant has been issued for his apprehension.
