Separate city accidents send two people to UPMC

City police and firefighters responded Saturday to two injury crashes within a three-hour period.
The first accident occurred at Park Avenue and Rose Street where a Hyundai Tucson and a Honda Civic collided about 10:15 a.m., police said. A man riding in the Hyundai was taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport to get treatment for minor injuries, police said.
Shortly before 1 p.m., a pickup truck and a Chevrolet Trailblazer collided at Arch and Lincoln streets, in the city’s Newberry neighborhood, police said. A woman riding in the truck was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be evaluated, police said.
The collision broke the truck’s drive shaft, disabling the vehicle, police said.
