Three teens seriously injured in crash near Hughesville Sunday

HUGHESVILLE — Three 17-year-old males, all from York County, are recovering from injuries they suffered in Sunday afternoon’s violent single-vehicle crash on Route 118, according to state police.

No names were released because they are juveniles, police said.

One teen is from York, police said, while the other two are from Seven Valleys, a small borough about 10 miles southwest of York.

The three were traveling west on Route 118 in Moreland Township when they crashed near Neuhard Road in Moreland Township about 4:20 p.m., police said.

When the driver lost control, the car traveled off the north side of the two-lane road and struck a ditch before going airborne about 20 feet, police said. It then hit a tree and overturned on its roof, police said.

The driver and one of the passengers were trapped in the wreckage while the second passenger was ejected out a back window, police said.

Two teens were taken to UPMC Williamsport while another was transported to UPMC Muncy. There was no word on their medical conditions.

A section of Route 118 was closed until about 8 p.m.

Starting at $2.99/week.
