Two face sex-related criminal charges in separate incidents

Philadelphia teen charged with prostitution

Abdur Faneef Culler, 18, has been charged with prostitution after the Philadelphia resident allegedly agreed to perform a sex act on an undercover agent in exchange for $120, according to a state police affidavit.

The undercover agent allegedly picked Culler up in the 800 block of Second Street in the city on May 20, and handed over the pre-recorded funds before driving to a parking lot in the 600 block of West Fourth Street, where the arrest was made.

Culler was arraigned on the charge by District Judge William Solomon and jailed at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $7,500.

City man hit with child sex assault charges

City police have charged John Mitchel Poorman, 41, of 2244 W. Fourth St., with multiple sex-related counts after an alleged victim reported that he had inappropriately touched her several times during 2024, according to an affidavit.

The alleged incidents took place while the minor victim was between the ages of 11 and 12. One of the incidents occurred while the alleged victim was on Facetime with a friend, who described the interaction as “strange,” the criminal complaint alleged.

During police questioning, Poorman acknowledged some of the interactions, though he denied they were sexual in nature, relating that they were a “game” the two played together.

Poorman was arraigned on charges of endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and indecent assault by District Judge Christian Frey, and released in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Starting at $2.99/week.
