A time for celebrating

Together, these six members of the Nippenose Volunteer Fire Company represent a total of more than 200 years of service to the company. Each one received special recognition at Saturday's banquet for their selfless years of service. From left are: Assistant Chief Jeff Stabley, 32 years of service; Assistant Capt. The Nippenose Valley Volunteer Fire Department gathered Saturday at the Gamble Farm Inn in Jersey Shore to celebrate 75 years of service to Rauchtown, Oval, Collomsville as well as Crawford, Bastress, and Limestone townships and surrounding communities. Whenever any emergency took place in the fire department’s coverage area, for three-quarters of a century, the fire company has been on the fronlines of caring and helping those when they needed it the most.
