A medical helicopter takes off with one of people who were seriously hurt in a violent two-vehicle head-on crash that took place on Dushore Overton Road, about five miles west of Dushore, in Cherry Township about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, according to Dushore Fire Chief John Yonkin. An adult male driving a Jeep and a 4-year-old child riding in the vehicle were both seriously injured and flown to trauma centers. The Jeep and an SUV collided, Yonkin said, adding that the other driver was not hurt. The road was closed for about two hours. Mildred firefighters and emergency medical technicians assisted at the scene. Just before 2 p.m., Dushore firefighters responded to another crash when a woman lost control of her motorcycle that upset as she was entering the borough from the north on Route 87, Yonkin said. The woman, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre to get treatment for her injuries. State police are investigating both crashes.

Borough firefighters were also dispatched to a third crash, this one on Route 220, just outside the borough, about 10 a.m., but no one was injured, Yonkin said.
