Fire breaks out in Genetti laundry room
PHIL HOLMES/Sun-Gazette Williamsport firefighters leave the Genetti Hotel at 200 W. Fourth St. to where they were dispatched about 4:15 p.m. Sunday when a fire broke out in a dryer in the hotel’s laundry room. The fire was confined to the dryer, but it caused considerable smoke in the basement. Exhaust fans were used to clear the smoke. A few guests were temporarily evacuated and the hotel is in full operation, fire officials said. A hotel staff member had already extinguished the fire when firefighters arrived.
