A 65-year-old motorcyclist from out of state was killed Friday night in a one-vehicle crash on the Warrensville Road off-ramp of Interstate 180 East, just west of the Montoursville borough line in Loyalsock Township, the Lycoming County deputy coroner said.

Late Sunday night, the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office released the cyclists identity as Michael Bay, of Westminster, Maryland, formerly of Sturgis, South Dakota.

It appears the cyclist, who was wearing a helmet, lost control on the off-ramp and crashed about about 6:10 p.m.

He was pronounced dead in the emergency room just before 7 p.m., the deputy coroner said.

The off-ramp remained closed until about 9:15 p.m. until state police completed their on-scene portion of their investigation.

Besides township firefighters and paramedics, fire police from Montoursville and South Williamsport responded along with employees from the state Department of Transportation.
