A Williamsport man faces several charges after he allegedly physically assaulted a female alleged victim at his residence on May 30, 2026.

During a dispute with the alleged victim, Derrick R. Friday, 46, of 311 Center St., allegedly placed his hands around her neck, causing her to be unable to breath and pushing her up against a wall, a city police affidavit said.

“You’re gonna die. I’m going to kill you,” Friday allegedly said to the female.

The alleged victim was able to free herself of Friday’s grasp and fled to a bathroom, exiting through a window when Friday began attempting to enter, court documents said.

Police observed redness around the alleged victim’s neck, abrasions to both elbows and her nose.

Friday was arraigned on charges of strangulation, simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment by District Judge Aaron Biichle and jailed at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
