Patient allegedly caused $10,000 damage to UPMC treatment room

While undergoing a mental health evaluation at UPMC Muncy on the afternoon of June 17, out-of-control patient Wyatt Michael Irvin spat on security staff and caused an estimated $10,000 damage to the room where he was being held and threatened, it was alleged in a state police affidavit. The 18-year-old man “possessed two pocket knives and related he would cut his throat, and that he wanted the troopers to kill him,” it was stated in the affidavit. Once there, the teen’s behavior became more aggressive, and a physician had to give him not one, but two sedatives to get him under control, police said. Irvin was arraigned before District Judge Denise Dieter on a felony charge of criminal mischief as well as additional charges of disorderly conduct and harassment. He was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail.
