Inmate allegedly flees Montoursville pre-release center
Phyllis Marie Wettlaufer, 43, an inmate at the Lycoming County Prison, has been charged with escape after she allegedly fled from the county pre-release, 546 County Farm Road, Montoursville, center on June 5, 2026, the Lycoming County District Attorney’s Office said in an affidavit.
Wettlaufer’s incarceration stemmed from a March 2, 2026 guilty plea for felony criminal trespass. Having completed her minimum sentence, she was initially released on parole, but was picked on a violation and taken to the Lycoming County Prison on May 26, 2026, and ultimately to the pre-release center on June 3, 2026.
Two days later, Wettlaufer allegedly entered the outdoor female pavilion, scaled a fence around the perimeter and fled on foot.
She was later taken into custody at the home of a relative in Loyalsock Township and returned to the county prison, court filings said.
Wettlaufer was arraigned on the charge by District Judge Gary Whiteman and jailed at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
