Lycoming County inmate allegedly walks off work release site
An inmate at the Lycoming County Prison has been charged with escape after he allegedly walked away from his work release site on June 17, 2026, according to the Lycoming County District Attorney’s office.
Elijah Davis, 53, of Montoursville, was serving a sentence of 12 to 24 months after pleading guilty to charges of delivery of a controlled substance and sale of a non-controlled substance while representing it as a controlled substance on Dec. 9, 2025 at the time of the alleged escape.
Davis was apprehended by authorities with the Lycoming County Sheriff’s Office roughly four hours later and returned to the county prison, court filings said.
He was arraigned by District Judge Gary Whiteman and jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail.
