Middleburg woman charged with making false reports to authorities
A Middleburg woman faces multiple charges after she allegedly concocted a false story about a fourwheeler accident, according to a Lycoming Regional police affidavit.
Police, fire and EMS crews were called to the area of Route 973 West and Dauber Road in Lycoming Township just after 4 p.m. on June 11, 2026 for a report of an unresponsive female, later identified as Mary Rose Hunsinger, 26, of Middleburg, on a fourwheeler.
First responders to the scene advised that Hunsinger was found in the middle of the road, unresponsive and foaming at the mouth, court documents said.
After coming to, Hunsinger allegedly advised police that she and her boyfriend were riding fourwheelers when her boyfriend went over the embankment, and that upon making contact with him, he was unresponsive and gasping for air.
She then rode her fourwheeler to the area of Dauber Road and 973 in order to call 911, as she did not have service near the crash site, she said, according to an affidavit.
Hunsinger initially provided her first name, but was reluctant to share her last name, allegedly relating that she believed she was wanted.
During police questioning, Hunsinger's recounting of the events were "all over the place," police said in court filings, adding that she had an odor of alcohol, cottonmouth and was talking fast.
Hunsinger allegedly became combative and attempted to strike medics as they tried to load her into an ambulance, necessitating her sedation.
Hunsinger's boyfriend was later found unharmed, driving around in his jeep.
He told police he had not been on a fourwheeler nor in any kind of accident, advising that had taken his fourwheeler and he was attempting to locate her, according to an affidavit.
A search warrant for Hunsinger's blood allegedly revealed a positive result for the presence of alcohol and methamphetamine.
Hunsinger was arraigned on charges of false alarms to agencies of public safety, false reports to law enforcement agencies, disorderly conduct, DUI and public drunkenness by District Judge William Solomon, and released on $25,000 bail.
Cogan Station man charged again with child endangerment
Already charged with felony endangering the welfare of a children for "failing to know where his two children, ages 3 and 8, were located during multiple incidents between Aug. 9 and March 25," Kevin Michael Woodling, 39, of 3731 Lycoming Creek Road, lot T3, has been hit with a second, misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child as well as disorderly conduct after neighbors allegedly recorded him retrieving one of his minor children from the roadway near his home before accelerating his vehicle to point of spinning his tires and throwing dust and stones, according to a Lycoming Regional police affidavit.
Made aware of the allegations, Woodling allegedly admitted that after the child rode his bicycle away from him, he got in his truck to catch up to the child due to having a bad hip.
Woodling further acknowledged accelerating from the area out of anger with the witnesses, adding that the child had traveled from the trailer park toward the Cogan Station Market before he was retrieved, police said in court documents.
Fresh tire marks were allegedly observed by police in the 3600 block of Lycoming Creek Road.
Woodling was arraigned on the charges by District Judge William Solomon.
Inmate again charged with assaulting correction officer
Harley Olicia Grace Cutshall Gates, 23, currently incarcerated at SCI-Muncy, has been charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats after she allegedly kicked a corrections officer in the thigh while being escorted to her cell on April 11, 2025, according to a state police affidavit.
Cutshall Gates was taken to the ground in order to secure her due to her combative behavior.
"I'm going to kill your "expletive," I'm going to "expletive" kill you, "expletive," Cutshall Gates allegedly said from her cell.
She was arraigned on the charges by District Judge Kirsten Gardner and remanded to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
In October 2025, Cutshall Gates was charged with simple assault after she allegedly kicked a correctional officer, causing her to bump into a cell door behind her, and damage to her liver, state police said in an affidavit.
Muncy man hit with more theft-related charges
Previously charged with felony attempted burglary, and criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a window at Smokers Square at 16 S. Main St. on March 12, Kevin Curtis Heeman, 20, of 28 W. Water St., Muncy, now faces charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole a collapsible wagon capable of hauling several hundred pounds and valued at $150, from a residence in the 300 block of West Penn Street in Muncy on June 6, 2026, according to a borough police affidavit.
After taking the report from the victim, police canvassed the area and discovered a wagon matching the description of the one reported stolen.
Heeman allegedly claimed that he had only borrowed the wagon and did not intend to keep it, repeatedly apologizing and requesting to be allowed to return it to its owner, according to court documents.
The alleged victim positively identified the wagon as belonging to her and expressed her wish for criminal charges to be filed against Heeman.
He was arraigned on the charges by District Judge Kirsten Gardner and released on $5,000 bail.
Jersey Shore man charged again with assault charges
Steven Ray Barner Jr., 35, of 286 Hill St., Jersey Shore, was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment for allegedly held a knife to the throat of an alleged victim at his residence around midnight on June 26, 2026, a Lycoming Regional police affidavit said.
The incident began with a verbal argument that quickly escalated when the alleged victim threatened to call the cops on Barner, who had an active warrant for his arrest, she told police.
It was at this point that Barner allegedly began threatening her and she retrieved a knife to protect herself, which Barner took and threw away from her.
He then allegedly pushed her against a wall, pulled a knife from a sheath, put it to her throat, threatening to kill her if she called the police, court documents said.
The alleged victim said she then tried to defend herself with a hatchet, however Barner allegedly snatched that away as well.
A small mark underneath the alleged victim's chin, where she said Barner touched her with the knife's blade was observed by police, and she supplied a written statement alleging Barner had also hit her twice and bit her nose.
Barner was arraigned by District Judge Denise Deiter, and jailed at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Just last month, Lycoming Regional police withdrew charges of simple assault and harassment against Barner. Those charges stemmed from a domestic incident at his Porter Township home on May 7.
Jersey Shore woman hit with theft charges
A Jersey Shore woman has been charged with felony retail theft and receiving stolen property after she allegedly pilfered $20.06-worth of merchandise from the Jersey Shore MinitMart between July 14 and 15, 2026, according to court filings by Lycoming Regional police.
On July 14, Gina Rhinehart, 46, of 703 Allegheny Street, Apt. 5, Jersey Shore, entered the convenience store and allegedly concealed one alcoholic beverage and a bag of tobacco in her purse, and left the store without paying for the items, a manager of the store told police.
The next day, Rhinehart returned to the store and concealed two alcoholic beverages in her purse, and again exited the store without paying, an affidavit alleged.
Store employees positively identified Rhinehart as the alleged perpetrators and police reviewed store surveillance footage and observed her allegedly concealing merchandise in her purse before leaving on the dates stated above.
Rhinehart previously pleaded guilty to retail theft on Aug. 22, 2025.
District Judge Denise Dieter arraigned Rhinehart on the charges and released her on $15,000 bail.
