Teen arrested for 2025 Halloween night shooting death
A suspect in the Halloween night shooting death of a 15-year-old male near the 600 block of First Avenue in the city has been arrested, according to a post on www.crimewatch.net.
17-year-old Vincent Baskerville was into custody on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, by agents with the city police Criminal Investigations Unit, who traveled to the Harrisburg area to make the arrest.
City authorities were assisted in the apprehension by the U.S. Marshals Service, the Dauphin County SWAT Team, and the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, according to www.crimewatch.net.
“The arrest was the result of an extensive investigation conducted by the Williamsport Bureau of Police Criminal Investigations Unit,” the post said.
“The Williamsport Bureau of Police extends its sincere appreciation to our partnering agencies for their professionalism, coordination and assistance in safely taking Baskerville into custody,” according to the post.
City police arrived were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Park Avenue for reports of a shooting victim around 11:19 p.m., on Oct. 31, 2025, and while on scene, received a separate dispatch for a gunshot victim in the 600 block of First Avenue, according to a post to Crime Watch.
Arriving at that location, the 15-year-old victim was found lying on the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.
He was transported to UPMC Williamsport for emergency treatment, however, he later succumbed to his wounds, the city police post said.
