Alleged misuse of debit card results in felony charges
A city woman trusted Madison Elizabeth White enough that she gave White her debit card in order that White would buy items that the woman needed. However, during a period of several weeks this spring, the 23-year-old White illegally withdrew close to $6,000 from the woman's account, city police alleged in an affidavit. It is also alleged that White, of 961 High St., sent "large sums of the woman's money" to the Lycoming County Prison to benefit an inmate there, it was stated in the court document.
When questioned by police, White told them that she paid the woman back all that she owed, but the victim never received any reimbursements nor did she ever "authorize White to use the debit card for her own gain," it was stated in the affidavit. It is alleged that White stole $5,827 from the woman, police said.
Charged with theft, receiving stolen property and access device fraud, all felonies, White was arraigned last week before District Judge Aaron Biichle and released on $30,000 bail.
Area man charged with allegedly threatening to kill sister
Damian Edward Colegrove, 43, of 3731 Lycoming Creek Road, has been locked up on charges stemming from him breaking into his sister's motel room at 2295 Lycoming Creek Road on Friday night and telling the woman, "You're going to die tonight," it was alleged in an affidavit filed by Lycoming Regional police.
Arraigned Sunday night before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on charges of felony burglary, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment, Colegrove remains jailed in the county prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
South Williamsport area woman charged with felony shoplifting
While wearing an ankle monitor issued to her by the county's probation office, Vera Marie Baysore entered Smokers Express at 42 E. Mountain Ave. in South Williamsport on June 9 and stole $20 worth of merchandise, borough police alleged in an affidavit.
The GPS coordinates on her monitor confirmed that she was in the store at the time of the theft, which was recorded on the store's surveillance system, police said, adding that this was her third shoplifting arrest.
Baysore, 38, of 690 Route 15, South Williamsport, has been charged with felony shoplifting and receiving stolen property. She has since waived her preliminary hearing before District Judge Gary Whiteman and remains jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail.
