Two Lycoming County men allegedly involved in shooting in Columbia County

Two Lycoming County men were arrested by state police in Columbia County on Wednesday after police responded to a man shot, state police said in a news release.

Aiden LaForest, 22, of Williamsport and Raymond Poust, 23, of Montoursville, were taken into custody and charged with conspiracy – homicide, attempted first degree murder with serious bodily injury, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, aggravated assault causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon, simple assault, reckless endangerment, persons not to possess a firearm and tampering with evidence and additional charges.

Both were arraigned and bail set at $500,000. They were lodged in the Columbia County Correctional Facility.

On Tuesday at approximately 2:50 p.m. troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Bloomsburg station were dispatched to a residence on Benjamin Road in Jackson Township in Columbia

County for a report of a male with a gunshot wound.

The male was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for treatment.

This appears to be an isolated incident, but as always if anyone sees any suspicious activity, please contact 911.

The incident is being investigated by the Troop N Major Case Team in conjunction with the Columbia County district attorney’s office.
