When Julian Thouvenot pulled into the Turkey Hill at East Water and Washington streets in Muncy just before 5 p.m. on July 25, another motorist, who had seen him driving in a reckless manner moments ago, confronted him and asked why he was operating his Chevrolet Cruze in "reckless manner," it was stated in a borough police affidavit. This incensed the 31-year-old Thouvenot who began yelling obscenities at the man and kicking a side door to his pickup truck, causing an estimated $1,000 damage, police alleged in the court document. Before leaving the convenience market, Thouvenot, of 1025 Harding Road, apartment A, Hughesville, threatened "to run the man over and paralyze him," police alleged. As he left the scene, he "revved up the engine" of the Cruze and allegedly "accelerated toward the victim," putting him "in fear for his immediate safety" as he sped away at a high rate of speed, police said.
Thouvenot has been arrested on charges of terroristic threats, criminal mischief, reckless driving, harassment and two other summary offenses. Arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, he waived his preliminary hearing last week and remains jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
