When state troopers stopped motorist Akeem M. Hall in the 500 block of Pine Street after his 2015 Lincoln MKZ struck the curb at Little League Boulevard and Market Street in the city, damaging the front end of the car, about 12:30 a.m. on July 17, the 32-year-old man took off running, dropping his cellphone as he got out of the vehicle, state police said in an affidavit. There was a female passenger in the car, but she told police she had no idea who the driver was because she "just met him at a bar," the court document stated. The troopers determined the driver's identity upon recovering the cellphone, which was registered to Hall. At the time of the stop, Hall's driver's license was suspended, police said. Hall was arrested last week and arraigned before District Judge Aaron Biichle and jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
