Vehicle stop results in motorist facing numerous charges
Upon being stopped for a vehicle-code violation in the area of Fourth and Memorial avenues in the city about 11:45 p.m. on Oct. 5, motorist Ameer Burks got out of his 2024 Chevrolet Malibu and became confrontational with two state troopers, who immediately ordered him to get back in the car, but he refused, it was alleged in an affidavit.
"He became extremely hyper, moving around and speaking irrationally. When ordered to put his hands on the vehicles, the 46-year-old Burks began running away," it was stated in the affidavit. He ignored troopers' repeated commands to stop, but the pursuit came to an end when he ran into "a cable barrier," police said.
He continued "to fight" with troopers as they attempted to get him under control, police said, adding that Burks pulled out a bag of marijuana out of his pocket, admitting that he had smoked the control substance one-to-two hours ago. The troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from his body and they suspected he was impaired. They also seized from him a bag containing 26 grams of marijuana.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Gary Whiteman on charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia plus two summary offenses, including driving while his license was suspended for a prior DUI offense, Burks, of 131 E. Water St., apartment A, Muncy was jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Kayle Lynn Green, 19, of 1167 E, Penn St., Muncy. has been charged with corrupting the morals of minors, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct following a disturbance outside her home in which she allegedly encouraged smoking marijuana to a group of juveniles about 5;50 a.m. on Aug. 9 , it was stated in a state police court document. When a trooper approached the scene, Green was yelling on her cellphone "I know, we are smoking pot. Is that a problem," it was stated in an affidavit. There were at least five juveniles in a Ford Escape while Green was standing next to the car, police said.
"It was obvious most of the juveniles were under the influence of alcohol or marijuana" or both police said. Green then began screaming and yelling obscenities at her mother who came out of the house where Green lives, police added.

City woman charged with false reports to law enforcement
On May 6, city police informed Tyesha Levera Green that they would be holding her cellphone for a period of time for investigative purposes as a result of an incident in which she was charged with obstructing the administration of law and related offenses, according to court records.
The 38-year-old city woman was told on how and when her cellphone would be returned to her, police said.
However, Green was not happy with what she was told, and investigators allege that she came to police headquarters on Nichols Place on June 1 and on one other occasion to file a false report that the cellphone was either stolen or lost, it was stated in an affidavit. In the last incident, she left the police station in a "boisterous and loud" fashion, Patrolman Brian McGee wrote in the affidavit.
Charged with false reports to law enforcement and disorderly conduct, Green, of 505 Center St., apartment 614, was recently held for court on both charges following a preliminary hearing before District Judge Christian Frey. She is free on $2,500 bail.
Green is also awaiting trial on charges stemming from the May incident that occurred in the 1300 block of West Fourth Street. She is free on bail in this case as well.
