Emergency personnel work at the scene of a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of the male driver late Friday afternoon on Cemetery Road, just north of Wildwood Cemetery, in Loyalsock Township, according to state police. The driver, whose identity was expected to be released later today, was traveling south when he lost control of his SUV about 5 p.m. The vehicle crossed the northbound lane and struck an embankment before it hit a tree and overturned on its passenger side, emergency responders said. The SUV ended up facing north. Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. pronounced the victim dead at the scene and took the body to the county's forensic center. The driver was the sole occupant in the vehicle. More information was expected to be released later.
