Former Genetti Taphouse to undergo transformation

The Genetti Hotel recently announced a new restaurant concept, “Windows on 4th”, coming in April.

The restaurant, located inside the Genetti Hotel at the corner of 4th and William Street (formerly known as the Genetti Taphouse) will undergo a transformation which will involve a full renovation with a brand-new interior design, new style and new menu.

According to a press release, the aesthetic of “Windows on 4th” is inspired by the windows of the historic, landmark Genetti Hotel and the views of Downtown Williamsport. The interior design will feature vintage windows and doors, refined woods, stone work, and the exterior will feature upgraded outdoor seating areas. The menu will feature comfort classics with an eclectic, modern twist appealing to every palate, utilizing produce and meats sourced from local farms.

Accredited chef Gary Edwards, from the Wilkes-Barre area, recently joined Genetti Hospitality and his fresh ideas and extensive cooking background are a very positive enhancement for the prime restaurant location in Williamsport.

Edwards is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He began his career as the executive chef at the Inn at Nichols Village and the Ryah House in Clark-Summit. Chef Edwards then went on to enhance his career as an executive chef/food and beverage manager at Fernwood Resort in the Poconos. He then spent four years as executive chef at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in Scranton, overseeing Carmen’s 4-star restaurant and Trax Restaurant and Martini Bar. Edward’s also had 12-year ownership and operation of Fire and Ice on Toby Creek, a restaurant in Trucksville. Prior to joining Genetti Hospitality, Edwards was executive chef at Constantino’s Catering and he also taught restaurant management classes at Luzerne County Community College.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Chef Gary’s caliber join the Genetti Hospitality family and we are excited to soon have a fresh, modern restaurant and we can’t wait for guests to share this new experience with us” said Miranda Kujawa, General Manager. “We’ve started the restaurant renovations and I couldn’t be happier considering what we have gone through in the last year due to Covid.”

“The new leadership in our food and beverage department will enhance our guest experiences in both “Windows on 4th” and in our banquets so we can begin to offer Sunday brunch and off-site catering,” said Kujawa. “We have started the hiring process for managers, servers, bartenders, hostesses, bussers, cooks and dishwashers.”

The Genetti Hotel is located at 200 West 4th Street and offers 205 guestrooms and suites, outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, 11,500 sq. ft. of meeting and event spaces and a restaurant and bar.
