New York Style-bagels and sandwiches are coming to Williamsport early next month.
Toast'd Bagels, located on 11 W. Fourth Street will offer a selection of bagels, cream cheese, breakfast and lunch sandwiches and coffee.
The owners of the new business, Christian Diggs, 24 and Hannah Summerson, 23 are both from the Williamsport area.
They were inspired to open the business after seeing a need for a bagel and breakfast sandwich shop in the area.
"I love bagels -- It's my thing every morning. Lewisburg has the closest bagel shop, probably. And people around here will drive like 30 minutes to go there to get them. So we just saw a need and thought, we might as well," said Summerson.
Summerson has family in New Jersey, an area known for bagels. This was also part of their inspiration.
"Her family is from the New York, New Jersey area, they have the best bagels and we can never find them here. So we were like, let's just bring them here. ...We found the spot and just jumped on this one," said Diggs.
The shop plans to offer customers 12 different bagel options and six cream cheese options, some of which will be vegan.
"We'll also carry beyond meat. Vegan sausage, vegan hamburger. Some different options," said Diggs.
All together there will be a selection of around 12 signature breakfast and lunch sandwiches, all of which will be customizable.
Along with the bagels and sandwiches, the store will offer regular hot coffee, provided for by a company called Colina.
"Our coffee is from Harrisburg. It's a brand called Colina. We took a long time finding a good coffee brand. They're really big in their community in Harrisburg. They donate a lot of it back to their community. So we love their coffee and we love what they kind of represent. So we partnered with them," said Diggs.
The store location will have indoor seating, as well as takeout options.
"We will deliver. We will do mass orders -- Any other businesses, conferences, meetings, or open houses, we want to be there for whatever. We want to be there and take care of their bagels for them, breakfast foods, or even lunch," said Diggs.
The two are excited to be a part of the recent growth in local businesses in downtown Williamsport.
"There's a lot of business coming back down. So we're excited for that," said Diggs.
Toast'd will be open Monday-Friday 7 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. They will also be open for late night orders on Friday and Saturday from 11 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.
