Policy organization selects board of directors

The SEDA-Council of Governments has elected its 2024 officers for the board of directors. Lycoming County Commissioner Scott Metzger will serve as president. Snyder County Commissioner Joe Kantz has been elected 1st vice president and Clinton County Commissioner Jeff Snyder will serve as 2nd vice president.
"I'm looking forward to working closely with our board officers throughout the year ahead on some very exciting projects that SEDA-COG is undertaking," said Metzger, according to a news release. "The expertise this leadership team brings will help drive strategy and innovation for our counties."
Howard Fry III, owner of Fry's Fire Protection, will take over the secretary role while Dennis Van Benthuysen will continue as treasurer.
"We have an ambitious agenda focused on strategic economic growth and efficient coordination of services that will benefit all residents in our 11-county region," said Kantz, according to the news release. "I'm confident this board can collaborate effectively to serve constituents across central Pennsylvania."
Snyder echoed the eagerness to propel SEDA-COG forward, adding "with cooperation and vision, we will make meaningful progress in 2024."
SEDA-COG Executive Director Kim Wheeler emphasized that "our officers contribute the strong leadership needed to guide SEDA-COG in its continuing evolution and regional impact. I also want to thank outgoing President Centre County Commissioner Mark Higgins for his service as board president in 2023."
The SEDA-COG board is a 22-member county-based policy board representing both public and private sectors.
