Foundation grateful for donations from businesses
Several area businesses recently presented Loyalsock Foundation with donations under the 2023-2024 Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credit Program offered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development, according to a news release.
The contributions are designated for Phase 1 of the permanent driveway/access road for The Summit: Center for Wellness in Laporte Township, Sullivan County. Six businesses contributed a combined total of $336,000.
“Loyalsock Foundation is appreciative of the financial support from Coterra Energy, Dushore Pharmacy, Fish Real Estate, UnityLab Corporation, Weinhardt’s Remodeling, and Woodlands Bank,” the news release said.
Under the DCED’s Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credit Program, corporations who have a Pennsylvania tax liability are eligible for a PA tax credit of 75% for every dollar donated. This mutually beneficial program is a way for businesses to direct tax dollars to a nonprofit for the well-being of the local community.
The 2024-2025 Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credit Program is now open until June 28, 2024. According to a news release, Loyalsock Foundation volunteers are contacting businesses and corporations to secure commitments to fund Phase 2 of the permanent driveway/access road construction project. Under this program qualifying entities include LLCs, Subchapter S Corporations and all other types of business entities except for Sole Proprietorships.
