District office names employee of the quarter
Sandi Duke is the District Office Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter, 2024.
As secretary for the Design Unit, Duke coordinates unit travel arrangements and performs a wide range of clerical duties, including producing letters for signing, filing documents, answering phones, covering the reception desk, processing mail, organizing calendars, scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, creating and sending emails, and reviewing district memorandums.
In 2022, 2023 and 2024, she periodically performed the clerical duties of the Design Unit and the Right-of-Way (ROW) Unit, due to a vacancy in ROW.
“While working in both positions, Sandi never missed a deadline, she continued to work at the reception desk, and filled in for the district executive’s administrative assistant,” a news release said.
Duke has participated in the training of new clerical unit members, volunteers to take on additional workload, and provides additional coverage for clerical staff when needed. She has served on the Employee of the Quarter committee and has volunteered to assist other where she can.
“Knowledgeable, organized, and efficient, Sandi completes tasks on time and performs her work with energy and enthusiasm,” the news release said. “She has excellent customer service skills, taking time to listen and understand a customer concern so the correct staff member can be assigned to review the concern. Sandi is a team player and is willing to assist anyone with questions or concerns.”
Duke is a three-year employee. She lives in Avis with her husband Jason and her youngest son Blake. Sandi is also the mother of Nathanael and Nicholas and a stepmother to Gabirel and Daijah. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
