AIDS Resource recently announced that it has earned the prestigious Platinum Seal of Transparency by Candid for the third consecutive year, signifying the highest level of transparency.
According to a news release, GuideStar, a comprehensive database of registered nonprofits in the United States overseen by Candid, utilizes a four-tier Seal system--bronze, silver, gold, and platinum--to indicate an organization's level of transparency and completeness in its GuideStar profile. Each seal requires increasing levels of information about the organization, its goals, and its effectiveness, and the Platinum Seal represents a significant achievement.
"This achievement reflects our unwavering dedication to full transparency in our mission, governance, finances, and impact," Kirsten Burkhart, executive director at AIDS Resource, said, according to the news release. "In a time when trust is paramount, we believe our community deserves complete visibility into how we steward resources and fulfill our promise to those we serve."
The availability of this comprehensive information empowers potential donors to make informed decisions about charitable giving.
"The Platinum Seal isn't just an accolade -- it's a reflection of our core values and the trust placed in us by our clients, supporters, and partners," Burkhart said. "This recognition validates our meticulous approach to data collection, outcome measurement, and ethical management practices that guide our work every day."

AIDS Resource, the news release said, is a non-profit, community-based organization that provides HIV prevention programs, HIV testing, and assistance to those living with or affected by HIV or AIDS. With offices in Williamsport and State College, the organization provides prevention, education, and testing to underserved and behaviorally vulnerable populations in a 10-county region. They serve Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Snyder and Union counties. Recently, AIDS Resource opened AR Health, a medical clinic dedicated to providing care to people living with HIV and to members of the LGBTQ+ community.
