United Way of North Central Pennsylvania moving forward with new name, tagline
After more than 103 years of service, Lycoming County United Way embraces a new name to reflect its broader regional impact: United Way of North Central Pennsylvania.
According to a news release, the name change “affirms the organization’s long-standing commitment to Lycoming, Sullivan and Tioga counties, where its programs, partnerships, and fundraising efforts already support families and communities across the region.”
“For over a century, our local United Way has stood with the community, supporting families, expanding opportunities for young people, strengthening financial stability, and helping our region thrive,” the news release said. From the Community Welfare Corporation to the Lycoming United Fund to the Lycoming County United Way, today, our new name reflects the full reach of our work across Lycoming, Tioga, and Sullivan counties–and the more profound impact we’re making every day. This time, changing a name marks more than a new chapter. It’s the beginning of a renewed commitment to the people we serve, and the launch of a new social media campaign celebrating powerful, life-changing work across North Central Pennsylvania.”
“Our new name reflects something we’ve known for a long time,” said Ron Frick, president and CEO of United Way of North Central Pennsylvania, according to the news release. “We are stronger–and more united–when we recognize the interconnected challenges and strengths across all three counties we serve.”
“This is more than a name change,” said Marketing Committee Chair, Audriana Empet, according to the news release. “It’s an invitation for everyone in Lycoming, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties to see themselves in our mission and to take part in building a thriving North Central Pennsylvania.”
“While the name is new, the organization’s mission remains unchanged: We mobilize communities to action to advance healthy communities, youth opportunity, financial security, and community resiliency,” the news release said. “Over the coming weeks, the United Way of North Central Pennsylvania will update its digital platforms, signage, and communication materials, highlighting local stories, community initiatives, and the impact community support makes possible, while continuing to honor its historic roots in Lycoming County.”
The organization will continue to operate from its Williamsport office, with programs and funding reaching all three counties.
The organization’s new tagline is “United is The Way,” which the news release said underscores its belief that lasting change only happens when communities come together.
